Here are a couple of my old Colt AR’s. I’ve always preferred the Colt Gray Anodized finish over the black.
The first one is an SP1 I bought new in 1980 with my first paycheck from my first full time job. I shot it regularly for the first few years then it became a safe queen.
The second one is an M4 clone I built in 2002 from a Colt Sporter lower and a Colt M4 upper. This is still my favorite AR even though it doesn’t have bells and whistles. The photos show it with a CMMG 22LR conversion installed.
