Sorry, I didn’t mean to hijack your thread. I wanted to post a review of the rifle, but it turned south quickly.
Mostly similar to this one. I never said the name of the shop until after I attempted to work it out with them. The responses were that it was their fault they didn’t check the product against what they put on their site. The ad clearly states a black rifle and black furniture. The picture also shows all black as does PTR’s website. Below is what I got.

Just got mine, and am having multiple failure to feeds running surplus steel mags, notably ones I have put U.S. Palm repack springs and followers in. Also to note I have also run standard springs and followers and still have had issues. Runs polymers just fine.
Milsurp mags lock up, some very tight, others just fine. Even my 40 rounder RPK mag had issues. Seems to happen about 2/3 to 1/2 through the mag. 20 rd Hungarian Tanker mag FTFs. Most mags are Polish, and Romanian.
Ammo used was Tutla, Wolf, Wolf JHPs, and Golden Tiger. All ammo had issues.
Without the magazine issues, it ran very well. Needs a muzzle brake to control the climb.
I have two PTR-91’s. When I purchased my first PTR, I had a very similar issue to yours, Mauser.
When I called PTR to sort out the issue, I was told that any bit of packing grease in the breech will cause failure in their rifles regardless of caliber. Something to do with the cycling of the gas. To correct this, he had me use a .45 copper bore brush to thoroughly scrub the breech. I thought he was jerking me around to get me off the phone. I had cleaned the rifle very well before ever firing the rifle so his advice made no sense to me.
Anyway, I did as I was told and lo and behold the rifle has been 100% reliable. I had the same issue with my second PTR and fixed it with the same solution.
I picked up a PTR-32 gen II last fall, only had it to the range a few times but so far been very impressed with the accuracy shooting Brown Bear, Golden Tiger & Privi Partizan (brass case). As mentioned above, mine is finicky with surplus steel mags. Doesn’t like any of my Hungarian mags or my Korean 20, likes some Romy mags. Runs 100% with Magpul MOEs and Tapcos. Seems to an issue in the angle/height of the mag, when it FTF the round seems to come out too low and stick below the feed ramp.
It’s as nose heavy as the Ayatollah so it’s more fun to shoot off a bench. The delayed recoil is amazing, You pull the trigger, round goes off, then a split second later you get this slow recoil pulse. Feels like the heavy buffer in my 9mm AR, so recoil doesn’t affect my shots at all.
Plenty of surplus furniture out there in black, dark green and light green. Still some wood stocks but the wood hand guards are disappearing fast. Mine came in black but the factory hand guards didn’t come with a heat shield and this thing heats up fast. For 8 bucks I ordered a surplus handguard with a stout internal heat shield, then filed it down and drilled it to mount a picatinney rail for my bipod.
