I’m glad you like the M93. I wish I had answers for you about the UBR, but I’m just the graphics guy, unfortunately. I’ve shot a couple of the UBR prototypes, but I’m not sure what the material weight difference will be between those and the real deal. If you need more info, call 1.877.4MAGPUL and dial the extension for Richard Fitzpatrick. He should be able to answer your questions!

Pretty much ALL our 6.8 mm testing has been done with 12"-16" barrels. Some of the early tests in 2002 were with 18" barrels. We also have done a bit of testing with 20" and now have a 10" that we can begin testing with.
Looks like the estimated UBR weight will be 1.25 pouds bare, 1.33 with recoil pad, 1.38 with pad and strike plate, and 1.41 with pad, strike plate, and ACR type weld.
Thanks Nick for the heads up, but I thought that the stock had an integral strike plate built into it, still I can’t wait.
Doc, I very much so look forward to the results from the 10" bbl that you now have for testing. I would like to know which loading gives the most fragmentation range.

Does the H&K rear sight not fit with the LaRue mount or is it just a PITA to look around?

Yeah, it doesn’t fit with the LT mount. you could put it over the barrel nut a little, but that would cause the mount not to be properly installed. I couldn’t put it over the KAC barrel nut as it was too thick. Now that it’s back to Troy’s, I can once again run my beloved Eotech:D .
Well, I just got my 6.8 MRP barrel done. It was cut from 16" to 11.5".
I just couldn’t afford to practice anymore, so I now have the ability to shoot 5.56 and 6.8 out of the same platform. I thought that for me this was a better idea than having two identical uppers.
The 11.5" 6.8 barrel as you can see will handle much like the 10.5" 5.56 barrel due to the SOPMOD mount. My 416-SD for the 5.56 should be at my dealer next week. I can’t wait!
I am having noveske make me a 11.5 inch 6.8spc barrel for a project. I needed to know what thread pitch to have him make me so I called AAC and asked them what the pitch is for the sopmod mount in 6.8. They told me that the sopmod mount wont work with my 6.8. 
. So I since you have one what is the thread pitch on it. (5/8x24?) I want a m42000 for it and I want to keep the barrel as short as possible. Any help would be great.

1/2x28 standard 5.56 AR15 threads. The Noveske will be fine. What can are you getting??? Are you getting a standard M4-2000? If so then I for sure as hell wouldn’t be shooting 6.8 through it. My can is bored out to .370 and is re-badged 6.8-2000. You could get them to EDM the bore of a standard M4-2000, but I think I would get them to use a .320 hole, the only reason that I’m using the .370 bore is so I can shoot 7.62x51, 7.62x39, .300/.221 out of the can as well, but the bigger hole means that the 6.8 is louder than it could be with a .320 hole.

Theres plenty of information out there on how effective those rounds are, I didnt need photographic evidence.

I want to get a M42000 that has been bored out. I also want the sopmod mount but AAC told me to get the barrel threaded in 5/8x24 and that the sopmod mount wouldn’t work. I assume that they want me to have the 5/8x24 threads so that I don’t put a flash hider on that is too small.
Did you have to bore the sopmod mount out or will the 6.8 round pass through? If it passes through fine then I will just get the barrel threaded in 1/2x28.

As to the AAC SOPMOD, it is bored out to take 7.62 rounds. You will be fine, thread it 1/2x28.
ETA: do you have a good source for the flashhider? I think they do it in limited runs.
