22 suppressors

My vote for spectre II as well. Amazing suppressor.

It will definitely be another money pit. I bought a Spectre II back in May and have been preparing for its arrival ever since. I calculate that I have spent close to $900, on top of the cost of the can and stamp, on threading barrels, new 10/22 barrels and an FVSR. It will all be worth it, eventually.

I have another thunderbeast on order right now. The 22L, doesn’t come apart but stick it in a sonic cleaner and it’s done.

I have a 10 yr old gemtech outback 2 (around 20k rounds through it and only weight gain of 2 oz!) and a brand spanking new swr warlock 2. They both sound great! Spend 3-400 on the can from a long time mfg and you’ll be very happy for an extremely long time.

I am very happy with my sparrow but we shoot a ton of 22lr so I needed something super easy to clean. I prefer the monocore design for cleaning.

A suppressor is made up of baffles. Those baffles can be a multi-baffle stack where every baffle is an individual piece that stack on top of one another

The other option is a one piece monocore

Neither picture is mine

The sparrow is monocore

I was going AAC or Sparrow. But stumbled on the new Surefire. It has worked well.

How important is being able to take it apart? Are there any studies / reviews done with round counts and dB levels?

For a 22lr can its extremely important to be able to take it apart. 22 leaves lead residue in the baffles that builds up over time so you need to be able to take it apart to clean out the lead.

How many rounds until there’s a noticeable difference in performance?

I still think the Spectre II beats the Sparrow- lower/no FRP and it’s a tougher, cheaper can.

It is a little longer and thinner though…

If you weigh the can after 1k round you will see a difference from the lead deposits, after 5k you will have a good bit of build up.

Pretty much, but I went with the SS Sparrow anyway. I’m not in the sentry removal business, so I just keep a nasal inhaler filled with water handy. It eliminates FRP with no mess and I like the design of the Sparrow better.

Love my Spectre II. Just picked up an MP 22 compact to try it on.
