Yea…not many cars will outdo a modern liter bike. If it does, they have some serious money in mods in that car…or like you mentioned, the rider wasn’t trying. Adding a full exhaust, and a custom mapped dyno tune and that bike just got way harder to beat.
Yup. My favorite personally owned bike was an ‘02. Limited to stock internals for engine, suspension, and tranny, pump gas/no power adders, DOT tires, and 60” wheelbase. It had only 988cc, had just an exhaust (the least loud one on the market) , filter, (free) custom map, free airbox mods, cheap external suspension mods, cheap body mods, modest (free) swingarm, heavy chain.
9.17-9.19. Exactly 150mph at the trap. Daily rider. It could pull 6th to the +500 limiter.
Edit: Great video. If I were to write a book about revolutionary superbikes/literbikes, the BMW S1000RR would have a chapter.
Then you have absolute insanity like this. I can’t even imagine how much this cost, but this thing absolutely destroys modified big horsepower cars. To the point I wouldn’t doubt if they went home and checked to see if something was wrong with their car. To have selectable maps that increase HP by increments of 300 is insane. You gotta love it though. Props to Calvo Motorsports for creating this beast.
Makes me miss my ZL1…gotta love acceleration, but it’s all about the twistys for me. Chevy absolutely killed it w/ the C6 ZL1’s & what you got for the $$$$$.
