Stretz Tactical Inc. will be conducting a 1 day basic tactical shotgun class, in Westchester County on Sunday 11/10/13. The class will be held at the Blue Mt. Sportsman Center 183 Watch Hill Road Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567 from 10:30 - 4:00

COST - $175

This class is an entry level course and is designed specifically for those who have not had any formal tactical shotgun instruction or those looking for a refresher class.

Topics covered will include: Shotgun selection and setup, ammunition selection, stance, grip, mounting/presentation, managing recoil, sight alignment/sight picture, patterning, reloads, transitions to pistol (OPTIONAL FOR THOSE BRINGING A PISTOL), select slug drill, ready positions, pivots & turns and more.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

** STUDENTS MUST BE CAPABLE OF STANDING LONG PERIODS ON YOUR FEET & RUNNING SHORT DISTANCES**

  • A serviceable duty/defensive 12 gauge shotgun - pump or semi-auto with a sling (tactical sling preferred) Please arrive with your shotgun already zeroed. A 100 yard zero is recommended, but not necessary - as long as you understand your zero.

  • AMMUNITION: 40 Slug, 25 OO buckshot, 75 birdshot

  • A method for carrying spare ammunition - on the gun, your person or both.

  • Eye & ear protection

  • OPTIONAL quality duty/defensive handgun (for transition drills) with 50 rounds, holster and spare magazine w/pouch - No serpa, crossdraw, ankle or shoulder holsters

Due to low enrollment, this class has been changed to a 4 hour pistol marksmanship class and already has enough people enrolled to be locked in. Details are:

11:00 - 4:00, $75

This will be all about learning to shoot your pistol accurately. This is not a “tactical” class per se. It will definitely be a “workout”, but you will leave with a baseline set of skills and drills to take back to your home range to work on.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Serviceable semi-automatic pistol
  • 200 rounds of quality ammunition
  • Quality belt mounted or duty holster (no crossdraw, shoulder, ankle or SERPA holsters - armed professionals issued a serpa will be the exception)
  • 2 magazines & a magazine carrier
  • Wrap around eye protection
  • Ear protection
  • A good attitude
  • Lunch (we will take a short break in place to eat)
