I don't have any experience with the surefire given it's crazy price pal, however Bigbore who I consider to be one of the most knowledgeable HK handgun opinions on the net did a fantastic review b/t several USP rail adapters that I think you might want to check out....

I can say that I have been extremely happy w/ the GG&G model and haven't exposed any faults within it's design since Ive been running one.

Good link and thanks. It was interesting to see, on the 4th page of that thread IIRC, the guy's alteration to the frame he made so he could mount a pic railed light without an adapter. Many a nights were spent with some files in front of me and my USP .45. I just never could do it!
