Zombies: A Living History

So how many of you Guy’s and Gal’s watched the History Channel show Zombies: A Living History? I think it was pretty entertaining and the show which was serious in nature touched on a variety of topics including Kits, Bug In and Bug Out, Weapons of all types and the different types of threats out there.

So whats your opinion and what important information did they supply or omit which you deem vital.

Plus it stars Josh from Grey Group Training!

I need to see this History Channel presentation!

No surprise that the favorite weapons were the 12ga, 9mm, 5.56 and the .22LR

Hand weapons light mace, crowbar and machete

Main concerns water and food resupply and those who wish to take what you have.

Was pretty good I thought.

I dug the commentary from Max Brooks…author of the zombie survival guide and world war z.

Anybody listen to Two Steps From Hell? Some of their music was in the background. I also find it interesting that over half of all Zombie movies have come out since 9/11.

I was surprised that they took a serious approach and offered some good advise for those who are just getting started with prepping and to maybe re-motivate those who have become complacent.

I had the wife sit down and watch this with me and she has a very renewed interest wanting to recheck are stores and to hit the range more.

I thought it was pretty good! Some what of a serious approach to the hole zombie thing.

Good shooting by Grey Group Training!

On again at 23:00

No shit, me too!!

It was cool
I got a kick out of seeing Kyle and JL on

I only caught about two minutes of it before I had to go. Some of these cats who write those books about zombie stuff really go the extra mile with depth and specifics.

Funny how something so blatantly silly can get people thinking isn’t it?

Anybody have a link to watch it online?

That would be really helpful over here.

I DVR’d it last night and watched it this morning. Cutting out the commercials is great.
Very well done show. Made a relivent connection between preparing for the worst and hoping for the best or at least not the worst.

My wife and I watch the AMC show “The Walking Dead”, while it’s strictly for entertainment it does keep her motivated about disaster prep and keeps us talking about different scenerio’s and what we would do/need. I think it’s great and I’ll defenitaly have to check out this special with her.

That’s the value of the show, beyond just the entertainment. Substitute the causal factor of the calamity, but still watch the resulting changes in resources, supply, demand, human behavior.

As the overwhelming majority of folks don’t have a clue or a single prep made, it won’t take much to bring society to its knees and the people in it back to a desperate existence.

Nice that they touched on the Zombie Squad at the end (in a positive light too), the site has gotten a ton of traffic since it aired

I think they did a great job on using something most people don’t really believe in as a conduit to get very real viable information out there to get people thinking about real world preps, and the issues that they brought up were applicable to any type of emergency.

The Grey group guys were a very cool bonus!
