What distance should I zero at? I have the red triangle recticle. I am assuming that 50 yards is the distance to zero at on 1 power, but I have no experience with 1-4 power optics, only aimpoints. Also it is on a 7.62 AR, which I am also new to. Thanks in advance.
Using the tip of the triangle - I would zero it to be approx 2.5" or 3" high at 100 to give me about a 200-250 yd zero. Check out a ballistic table for your ammo to be sure. That’s just an approximation off the top of my head. You should be able to then hold on a deer’s chest or similiar target out to 300 or so and hit. That’s the concept. Federal has a ballistic chart on line.
