What do you think a 1.5x ACOG should be zeroed to? I have heard that 50 yards is ideal. Ballistically speaking, you will be 2" high or low out to ~220 yards. Is this correct. Help please.
I’d focus on the posts from member Molon as he has all the charts and knowledge about zeroing at different distances.
The 1.5x ACOGs don’t have any kind of ranging reticule so it’s entirely up to you at what range you wish to zero. I would choose either 100 or 200, and only use 50 to get yourself on paper at 200.
A 50 Yd zero is no guarantee you will be within 2" out to 200 meters. How you cant the gun, various other factors and other sighting errors will be amplified 4x at 200.
With a good 200 Yd/M zero however, the reverse is true. Print some groups at the closer distances to note actual POI VS POA and you should be sighted in.
If you are “on” at 200 and 1/2" low at 5:30 (for example) at 50, so what?
