Did a little range time with my AKs today. My M70 seemed to want to group, so I put up a fresh target and got this:

Not too bad for irons (1.5" ten rounds), sorry CAI trigger, and old eyes. Wanted to shoot much more, but sighting in my son’s M4/MP15 took up my time (which is OK too).
I guess that the stiffer receiver/thicker barrel MAY provide a little more accuracy.
Is that a Century build with one of the Green Mountain barrels, or an original barrel?
It is Century with a GM barrel - I assume - looks BRAND new. It is a 2006ish with serial number AB009XX, and it is DCI. I did dress the crown with a brass screw. I did shoot it before and don’t think it wanted to group like this. The second group was a bit smaller than the second 5 also. I’m pleased.
Also may be that the barrel is smoothing out with “break in”
The chamber is a tad - just a tad tighter than my SAR1 - this from dropping a loaded round in and seeing how easy it falls out. The slightly tighter chamber may also aid in accuracy. (Realizing my unscientific observation).
If it’s a new looking barrel then it’s definitely a Green Mountain. The rifles that were imported and cut up into kits to build these had absolute crap bores from the militias being too busy ethnically cleansing their neighbors to clean their rifles.
They do have tighter chambers.
That’s a pretty damn good group.
