Folks, if any of you read Tactical Response Magazine, I have an article in the current issue, which is Sept-Oct. Article focuses on practical applied stress training directed at tactical LE. I have actually not gotten a copy myself to see how it looks, but I am getting email from buds who have, and hopefully the publisher will send me a comp copy. If not, I will track a copy down one way or another…
Anyway, feel free to comment, give me feedback, etc if you get a chance to read it.
Thanx!
Mods, I figured this was the right section for this post. Please move to correct section if not.
I’m not sure as I’ve only thumbed through a few issues at work and never felt the desire to subscribe. I would be surprised if those in the security field couldn’t subscribe to it though
Take a look at the subscription recs on the web site, asks for unit, dept, etc. Not sure who they will accept and who they wont exactly, but it’s clearly no intended for or directed at civis or found on news stands for “I wanna be in SWAT when I grow up” type readers.
PS, if anyone has suggestions for future topics, let me know. If I have the knowledge and or creds/quals to speak on it, I will.
I also got it last week. Will you be contributing regularly? I usually scan the magazine but after your heads up read most of it and your whole article. Good read. As we have training this Thursday and I’m the training officer guess what we’ll be adding to the days already scheduled bi annual weapons quals, and yearly gas mask weapon qual? HeHeHe.
Not officially but I hope to submit additional articles in the future. Feel free to let the publisher know you enjoyed the article and think the mag should have more stuff like that from yours truly:
Let me know how it goes. We always made sure to have at least one stage, or rotation within a stage, wearing masks. Middle of summer in 90 plus and humidity, it was not fun, but they also knew that could be exactly how to played out on a call out, and so, like the “can do” guys they are, got it done (often with threats against my person and questions of why they hired me, etc…) and a fun time was had by all.
I’m on days off so I can’t reread the article right now but it might have been as simple as the diagrams showing depicting impropper technique. I think that was it…maybe depicting a hip rotation breech instead of a pendulum.
