Young Manufacturing Flash Hider Question

Any one have any experience with the Young Manufacturing Flash Hider. I got one and it was supposed to be a Smith vortex but I got a Young Manufacturing Flash Hider shown in this link:

Are these any good as I may be stuck with it?
Also does it need to be timed with a crush washer or just installed straight

Young does not make the vortex, Smith does.
That should not need a crush washer.

Like he said, Vortex is a trade name by Smith Arms.
The Young Mfg. flash hiders are very well made and will do a very good job.

Yeah I know Smith Enterprises makes the Vortex hence why I was surprised when I got the Young Flashider which is the one in the link above with straight tines versus the Smith’s helical tines. I’m trying to find out if the Young one is any good as I’m not sure I’ll get my money back for it.

So it does not matter that the tines are straight? I thought that was the whole theory that made the smith so effective?

I have the Young Mfg unit and it works awesome. I dont even get little sparks with my 14.5’’ barrel with hot military 55 and 62 grain ammo. I used a crush washer on mine.

they have some of the best BCG IMO… check’em out
