You Guys Think This Carrier is GTG With This Kind of Blem??

Good afternoon everybody.

Very first post here and I know a good many of you will shout out the welcomes and I’ll shout back a preemptive THANKS.

Just picked up this BCG on an auction site at a very good price. Buuut, the seller never said anything or included a picture of the the machining gouge on the left side. Pic below.

It was advertised as factory-new from a reputable vendor.

Just wondering if you guys would return it?

There was a mark previously there that was removed.

The carrier should be fine.

I think it is factory new, wouldn’t return it, and would use it.

You’re totally fine. Run it hard.

It’s just fine, probably a contractor marking that was removed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Appreciate all the replies.

Range trip Friday after work!!!

It was a manufacturer mark that was removed, nothing to worry about unless it was a Colt reject or something. Then I would worry.

The removed stamp, I would not worry about one bit.

The fact that it was advertised as “factory-new” yet it clearly shows wear, I would question.

gtg, I have one from a reputable vendor, no issues. It’s to remove a certain companies mark. Check the staking on the carrier and the bolt itself.

Thanks again folks.

The seller stated that he’d fired a magazine full to function test.

I also racked it a few times in my newest build and that may have caused some shiny spots.

Staking is fine and it really does appear factory-new.

This is my fourth build and fourth bcg and I’ve never seen nor heard of marks being ground off till now. Makes sense to me and I left positive feedback for the item’s seller.

Again, range trip…wooohoo!!
