yet another mk12 upper question:

Hello guys,

My next project is putting together a MK12 Mod1 clone. I have somewhat narrowed down my choices to the ADCO:

http://www.adcofirearms.com/itemdetails_.cfm?inventorynumber=4155

and the Centurion Arms:

http://www.centurionarms.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=48&category_id=18&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=134

My question is why is there such a large difference in price?

I see that the ADCO uses mostly white oak parts and includes the BCG and charging handle all for $1250 vs the Centurion Arms which doesnt include anything except the assembled upper which costs $1340 without a BCG.

Which is a better set up and why?

I have used ADCO for some work and they are top notch gunsmiths so I trust thier choices on components!

Thanks for helping a noob out!

I think the key is the barrel and the attention to detail by Centurion. My understanding is that the barrel is made by the exact same manufacturer who makes barrels for the military MK12s, and Larry Vickers has been on this site saying good things about these rifles. Check out this link:

If you want the Mk1, just get the ADCO. I have a Centurion with a Lite rail, and it’s at ADCO right now having a brake and collar installed, but the WOA for most purposes will be as good, and at that price the ADCO is hard to compete with.
