Very good suppressor at their price point.

I would step up to the Stainless Phantom model. A lot more can for a little more money.

YHM lists the stainless and chrome moly for the same price. What type of POA/POI shift has there been with these, and how is YHM for backing up their warranty? I see it listed as a lifetime warranty. Do you have to keep a receipt from having the FH installed as they say, “installation by other than a qualified gunsmith will void the warranty”? I might be interested in one as my first suppressor. Sounds like pretty good bang for the buck.

Weather and kids permitting I will answer that this coming weekend.

They back their warranty up very well. A++

I have a SS Phantom that is waiting on ATF approval (I had to send them my Schedule A last week). I will do a test as soon as I take possession of it and make it out to the range.

Good to hear about the warranty. And I can’t wait to see what kind of results you get at the range. Do you have a chrony? I’d be interested in seeing what kind of velocity changes there where too. Enjoy that can!

Go to silencerresearch.clom. register for free, and read a YHM and M4-1000 comparison. I think there’s a 10fps freebore boost on the YHM, but I could be wrong.

I have the chrome moly version purchased before they came out with the SS one. If I had it to do over again I would still go with the YHM but the SS instead for weight savings.

The weight savings is the least of it. The stainless can will be able to handle much higher heat levels. But that said, I wouldn’t be sad about owning the original phantom either. It’s a nice can.

I am not sad about owning it at all. I bought it for the price and suppression level and it fit the bill perfectly. There isn’t another mfg’s can that I would rather have.

As far as heat levels that different metals can handle is there a chart somewhere about that and does anyone know roughly what # of rounds over # of minutes it would take to reach those temps?

Let me see if I can dig up the info…

Thanks for the info. Surefire cans clearly have a great reputation but for an NFA item that won’t be used to shoot people in the face, this seems like a good way to go.

That just made my day!!
