Y'all come to Texas, state official tells New York gun owners

Texas I envy you! :stuck_out_tongue:

God I love this state.

So long as they don’t bring their extremist left wing/socialist relatives with them…seeing WAY too many of those immigrating from Cali, NY, east coast. They’ll ruin a good thing.

I have never been to Texas and now I am definitely looking forward to going there and do a little tour :dirol:

I don’t know if I’ll vote for him though, as I hope Medina takes another run at it.

Awesome, very attractive state

For years it’s been a running joke in Colorado that too many Texans come up here. Now I wish more would come and drive all the Californians back out.

Seriously thinking about taking the jurisprudence exam necessary to get my Texas medical license. Things are swinging waaaay too liberal here for my taste with Denver and Boulder running everything now.

Nobody up here west of Albany is liberal. If they are it is because they are downtrodden troglodytes living on welfare lol.

Exactly. We got enough Kalifornians here in CO now that they’re talking about making CO a test bed for stricter gun/mag laws. If this shit goes down I will fight it as much as I can and then we’re probably moving to Texas. I’ll be damned if I give another inch because as far as I’m concerned we already have too many guns laws that do NOTHING to prevent tragedy. I’m done comprising and as far as I’m concerned it’s time we start taking back the previous concessions we made because they clearly did nothing.

I think the one thing that Texas has going for it that other states don’t (I.e. Colorado, New Hampshire, etc…) is their unique history and culture that celebrates it. In most states the 1st generation moves in. They bitch and whine about wanting change. They affect some. But it’s their kids and inherited attitudes that make the major changes. I don’t see that happening in TX. I see the kids adopting their culture and values.

True.

I’m thinking we should buy up some land and build a ā€˜compound’ where several of us Colorado transplants can go about our way of life. We’ll just stay well clear of Waco. lol

Damn straight! We had a bloody revolution here once before and defeated the largest standing army in the Western Hemisphere. Same as the Founding Fathers did sixty years before in the colonies.

Perfect!

Loved Austin… Very much on the radar to move…

There isn’t much political difference between Boulder and Austin these days. Way too many kaliforications have moved here. Dallas and Houston both have democrat mayors.

As has been discussed in other threads, the smaller communities outside of the big democrat counties are the place to be for conservative values, but Texas, like anyplace else, is changing with the people that are moving here.

I dig the south, but it’s too goddamn hot.

I need me an average temperature of like 40 degrees.

ā€œYou may all go to hell and I will go to Texas.ā€

The problem that TX has is the illegals that come for the handouts that our benevolent .gov love to give. And before someone plays the race card, I’m from Cuban decent, my father was born there and came here LEGALLY…I think I’m well qualified to speak on the subject.

As an example of the above, my sister is a labor and delivery nurse at a downtown hospital in one of the larger cities. In her time there, she’s probably delivered (or witnessed the delivery of) thousands of babies…she can count on ONE hand how many of the patients had their own insurance and weren’t sucking on the .gov teet. In fact, they are so bold as to say that they continue to have kids in order to get more welfare. This is illegals and the typical ā€œAmericansā€ that you would find in a large downtown area…It’s unbelievably sickening the conversations that she’s relayed to us…

Then, these kids grow up and become 1st gen, 2nd gen, ect. welfare recipients. It’s all they’ve ever known. And, as you can guess, they will vote where the money is. Even though we’re still a ā€œred stateā€, really we’re purple now, this is pretty much the only reason elections come as close as they do. Get outside of the city centers, and you’ll be around many more people of like mind.

However, I will say this, our State Reps (and most of our National Reps) seem to have made a slight shift toward the Arizona side of the spectrum than the New York side in terms of political stance, libertarian type views, gun rights, and just in general a big middle finger to the socialist fed .gov  Which I will credit to the fairly large TEA Party movement here…I just hope that continues…

The full quote is:

In 1834, his autobiography titled A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett Written by Himself was published. Crockett went east to promote the book and was narrowly defeated for re-election. He said, ā€œI told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done; but if not … you may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas.ā€ Following his defeat, he did just that.
