XTM panels won't snap together all the way

Just got me some magpul xtm rail panels and put them on my rail system but they don’t seem to be locking together all the way. They won’t fall off but i still do not think there should be a little gap where they should lock together at. Anyone seen this before? Btw I am putting them on a daniel defense rail. Dont think that should matter but fyi

I have quite a few xtm’s and over the 7-8 diff. packs i have received…all of them snapped differently together…some easier than others, with my last ones being i think exactly like yours are currently…I was squeezing the damn things yesterday so hard my finger tips were blood red.

Long story short, they look and function just like all the other ones I own now…fit and function is perfect. Just took a ton of elbow grease to get them snapped intially.

Are these ones in question almost closing easily and then at a point right before they are supposed to lock, they dig in…or off the bat do they give you difficulty. If its the first, than yours were like mine from yesterday.

I run into the same issue from time to time.

Get channel locks and set to right “channel” to get a decent grip on the XTM’s. Get something to pad the teeth if you dont want a little marring. Squeeze together.

Worked for me with the stubborn ones…

They are just a hair shy of being snapped as you said Trident. Just enough to fit my fingernail between. Ok as long as im not the only one running into this issue. I have them together now, i did what you did belmont, went and got the channel locks. Thanks guys

I used a flat file to take a little off mine

What part did you file down??

What type of rail are you running? Some out of spec or on the high side of spec may be tight. On my Spikes .22 it has a YHM rail and it was a MOFO to get them on.

Its a daniel defense omega x

Amen…i put a yhm a long time ago on a nodic 10/22 and it was beyond outta spec. I have never exp. any other rail be outta spec besides that one yhm.
