I’d like to get this Novak rear sight to run with an XS big dot front sight. Are the sights set up on the same plane? I called Novak and they said their rear is set up to work with standard height front sight from 160 to 180, and I couldn’t get a contact number for XS and was wondering if anyone knows the height or a phone number.

Another option, although it takes more work, is to use an XS Standard Dot front sight and open up a standard rear sight notch to about a .156 wide U-shaped notch. It gives you a big front sight with plenty of daylight around it and it’s fast to center the dot in the “U” I got the idea from Chuck Rogers and have done a couple of 1911s that way. Those customers really liked them.
The only real issue is finding a rear sight with a notch that will completely clean up when you mill the new sight notch with a 5/32 ball end mill.
