XM193 vs Black Hills Redbox?

XM193 vs Black Hills Red Box 55 gr FMJ

Assuming that price and availability were equal, which would you buy, and why?

Thanks,
Jason

Red box BH anyday. Probably the best factory ammo you’ll ever see. It’s quality stuff.

They are different loads. The XM193 is a 5.56 NATO specification load. The BHA is a SAAMI .223 Rem spec load. This distinction may or may not be important for you.

You can expect fantastic consistency and accuracy from the BHA. BHA is the standard by which to judge others.

You can expect M193-like performance from the XM193. Given observed and reported performance, I would expect inconsistency from lot to lot in velocities and pressures. Still a serviceable training load.

And +1.

90% of my shooting is done with BHA, all calibers, all systems. Recommended.

next question is…where to find it? possible to order direct from Black Hills? or is there another place?

also, there are so many varieties of the Black Hills. what should i be looking at?

Black Hills will direct you to a dealer. There are a number of them you can find it you do a google search. Some are priced more reasonably than others.

Depends on what you want to do with it. I buy reman seconds for the overwhelming majority of my shooting. Regular reman when seconds aren’t available. New for duty use. A wide variety of bullet types are available.

Another Vote for Blackhills. They will not sell to you directly. Iron Bridage Armory is a dealer for them.
