X400u or 6 second mount/T1

I’m picking up a G17 for home defense. I was planning on getting a 6 second mount/T1 and using my X300u. I’ve recently started looking at the X400 and I’m wondering if this wouldn’t be a better option. Id like to run the gun suppressed some also, and I’ve heard of some failures with this combo (mount/t1/x300) because of the weight. I’ve never run a laser on a gun, so this would be a first. THanks in advance.

I personally have the same setup…micro, 6sm and x300 and though it’s a little heavy, it’s doable. Great compact package and pretty damn fast. Lasers are great but I like the idea of the red dot always being on, always being set up, to me it’s a no brainer.

It might be worth investigating a CT Lasergrip in conjunction with the 6SM, seeing how that fits in your hands and whether or not the laser diode clears the mount. Note that the X400U has a pretty significant offset on the laser; it’s workable, just not optimal. As for the red dot being always on, one could use the DG switch if running the X400U without the 6SM. The laser does have the additional benefit of allowing better feedback/aiming when shooting from retention.
