Question for anyone using the rail lock option on the X300? I just installed this mounting options, and no matter how tightly I turn the lock actuator screw (the small silver one on the side), I can still pull the rail latch back enough to slide out the rail lock bar. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance!
If I’m remembering correctly (don’t feel like taking mine apart right now), the two actually have nothing to do with each other. The silver-colored screw is connected to a ramp that applies pressure UP, tightening the mount by pushing against the BOTTOM of your gun’s rail. It shouldn’t have anything to do with your extraction of the rail-lock rail.
I typically pull the Rail-Lock rail TABS to the rear with one hand while I apply pressure to the “push” end of the RAIL with my other. If this isn’t working for you, I’m not sure what to say…how did you get it open to put it on the gun?
Ok thanks, wasn’t sure if the screw was supposed to have any effect on the rail bar not being able to be released or not. Makes sense.
And yeah, no problems with getting it on or off after loosening the screw. My only other concern was applying too much torque. Apparently I have a habit of sometimes over tightening some screws.
