I tried to search for this and came up empty, so if this film has been linked before I apologize. This was posted to another forum I frequent and thought some folks here might enjoy it.

“The Last Bomb” is an Academy Award nominated documentary film compiled by the US Army Air Forces in 1945 detailing some of the last long range bombing missions against mainland Japan by the 21st Bombing Command headquartered on Guam.

The film is about 35 minutes long and has a lot of actual footage of both the B-29 bombing runs as well as P-51 fighter escorts in both air-to-air combat as well as strafing runs against both land and sea targets. Starts a little slow with the pre-flight and mission planning phases, but picks up at about the 15 minute mark with the action sequences.

Good stuff for history buffs.

Pretty cool stuff, thanks.

I’m a history nut too.

Incredible footage. Especially those staffing runs.
