Spot on when he asked the host “Would you shoot me, if not then why project that onto others?”
He does a much better job than the vast majority of people I’ve seen interviewed on the subject.
This guy needs to replace Wayne Lapierre.
That hipster kid from those really good youtube videos, a vet in a wheelchair, this guy above, a small female intern… a potato, an empty chair or anyone or anything else should replace LaPierre.

Agree the guy did a good job none the less.
However none of this does any good when crime and saving kids are not the real motive behind gun control. Despite their arguments falling everytime they are pressed on something they will still pass this crap because it disarms the populace. NY is now looking like they are going to pass a stricter set of laws than they already have, and in 2011 they had FIVE deaths by rifles. This is nothing but disarming us by using a tragic event and fear mongering and stupid talking points.
We can win all these media battles or debates we want, and unless we have the right people in government it doesn’t do jack shit.
I agree. Most people see the futility of these laws. The average gun owner is against them. They just don’t really care unless they are directly affected. By that I mean if they don’t have a “hi-capacity” semi- auto the don’t really give a shit and won’t complain until they come after their Remington 700.
If we get another AWB ban I hope they do start going after FUDD guns and impose crazy storage and transport laws.
I shot trap for years and hardly any of them gave a shit about any other type of guns. I guess when you shoot single shot and o/u break action shotguns you’re pretty much last on the list…it was a big controversy at one club I belonged to when a dad of another (at the time) youth shooter bought his 16 year old sun a semi-auto handgun. Of course the dad was in control of it being the kid was 16 but the regular club guys were amazed someone would teach a 16 year old how to shoot one. Umm that kid can legally drive 5 and 6 thousand pound cars around at 75MPH and you’re whining about a handgun his dad has control over when not on a range? Pfft.

I disagree. Sterotyping all gun control advocates (whether citizens or politicians) as having a deep down motive of total bans is naive. Or that their motive is to disarm the populace and seek “control” over the citizenry. There may very well be certain individuals out there who seek total gun bans. But I don’t think they are the majority. Most just naively think that less people will die if there are tighter laws.
We can’t expect gun control advocates to understand our positions if we don’t understand theirs.
Do you think that media guy’s opinion was changed even though every argument he made was destroyed?
Like I said it’s who’s in government not anything on the outside. By anything…I mean we can all write letters, and that may help to a small degree, but either someone is pro gun or they are not.
That comment was directed mainly at the people who I think know what they are doing, and actually understand what they are doing. Not directed at the common off the street liberal who can only recite talking points.
It is amazing that any rational discussion of the gun issue leaves the anti-gun people looking like complete idiots. I think the best thing to take away from these videos is that if you keep your calm, actually address what people are saying and remember a few key facts you can win any debate. The anti-gun person you are talking to probably won’t agree with you, but anyone on the fence will see the truth in the arguements.
I agree and disagree with you. Have you won the debate if you know you won but everyone else sides with the guy that lost? That’s what we face right now. Logic has no place in this discussion. Only pure emotion and a blind belief system.
Their arguments they argue with don’t have to ‘win’ a debate. It’s simply noise they put out there so we debate with them and waste our time and effort fighting against stuff they don’t even believe in.
The talking heads are simply useful idiots who do nothing but recite the talking points and are just hard headed enough ‘they can’t be convinced’. Like I said that TV guy isn’t going to change his mind. It’s simply noise while the string pullers are working in government in the middle of the night. Do you think Obama is going to ‘debate’ anyone? He pops his head out once in a while and everything is done behind closed doors.
Look at the Hughes Amendment. In fact heres a video of it. New machineguns banned, and it took him about 5 minutes with a ‘voice vote’ Rangel ruled as passed.
