My biggest beef is the focus on “democracy”. Has everyone forgotten we are a republic? Democracy is mob rule by way of the ballot box. 50.1% should not rule over the other 49.9%. Seems like republic has been deleted from the vocabulary and it’s now democracy which means as long as you have a simple majority you get to do whatever you want.
We’ve been pledging to “spread democracy” throughout the middle east for decades. :lol:
Guess it is easier than saying we are “spreading federal constitutional republic government”.
We spread democracy then are shocked when the muslim brotherhood gets elected. Great policy we have going on here. But when the iranian revolt was going on Obama was so busy on his Christmas vacation to Hawaii it took him a week to respond, and didn’t do a single thing but give a quick speech. Country close is Israel? OMG we gotta bomb the shit out of them, and talk about how its going to be this great Representative democracy and its going to be like a little America in the ME! Oh MB takes over and kills our ambassador? Sorry dudes we have this 1st amendment thing here, and we aren’t as advanced as you guys where you get to stone people for crimes against the state and state sanctioned religion.
If we TRULY meant well we would offer the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
But that would require them to be respected here, too.
