After a long and dispiriting ordeal, I finally have my CMMG 10.3" SBR complete. It’s all CMMG save for the lower receiver parts kit which is DPMS. It’s a long way to the range, so I have yet to test fire it. I was on another gun forum and someone mentioned that SBR AR15’s sometimes require H buffers. Do I need one for mine? How can I tell what’s in my rifle right now?

Look at the face of your buffer, if it dosent have anything stamped on it, its a standard carbine buffer, an H buffer will have an H stamped on it, a H2 will have H2, and there are also H3 buffers as well.
I would shoot it and see how it functions and go from there…AD
OK, it’s a standard carbine buffer. When I shoot it, what would be the indication that I need to go with an H buffer? If it’s 100% reliable, I’m obviously good to go. However, if it’s not, what sort of reliability problem would I likely experience?
