I don’t understand why, other than institutional reputation, that the CIA still has an interest in files 63 years old. Anyone involved is, in all likelihood, dead by now. Be it JFK or MK Ultra, that shit was a l-o-n-g time ago. Now there is probably a legacy they want to protect of their agency, but they need to get over it. Protecting sources? Gimme a break, they’re all dead too.
I don’t see the CIA (or FBLie for that matter) as having a “storied” past….more like a sordid past! They are both a part of the government that I personally would like to see gutted and cleaned out, all the way down to the freaking janitor. Doing this shit only casts an even more suspicious pall over them (like they give a shit), and feeds conspiracy theories nearly seven decades later.
Although I believe they just want to keep some iota of plausabke deniability for JFK, recent attmepts on Trump’s Life have me believing MK Ultra is still going on.
Where else do you get these guys with a scrubbed clean past and an apartment with One Spoon, One Fork and One Butter Knife?
I would submit that we are two, maybe three “working” (as in employed) generations of CIA away from the JFK and MK Ultra people. Not alive, but retired from a career in the Agency. Now did the apple fall far from the tree? I’ll bet it didn’t. This would be a concerted effort to continue doing the same sneaky shit they’ve done since inception, passing the methods and styles on down to each successive “generation” of agents.
Bottom line? The CIA will continue to operate like it has since 1947, cultivating the new genre in the same mold as their predecessors.

I agree with Abnak, once you open the bottle you’ll never get it all back in. That they were allowed to do something once is justification enough to them to do it whenever they think the same reasoning applies.
