Would you suppress this?

Here’s the question- my ffl thought it would be neat to suppress one of his favorite collectibles- a Nagant revolver.

I’ve got the 9mm suppressor and just got into reloading a few months ago. He said starline makes new correct brass and that we can get the barrel turned down easily.

He thinks it would be a neat experiment considering the gas sealing chamber of the Nagant. -that and the fact that last time I was in to shoot 147gr. Rainiers out of the Colt, I had 3.5gr. of Accurate #5 behind them and all you could hear was the whacking of the bolt.

Would this be a waste of a $90 gun?

Is he helping pay for the experiment?

Well not really.

He’s buying the pistol and if I back out before the hacking begins I don’t have to take it.

He will be picking up a nice one though without the usual stupid accessories to keep the price down.

The Nagent’s sealed chamber made this quite popular as far as a platform for a silencer back in the Cold War days. Very plentiful and disposable.

That said, keep us imformed - might want to try this myself.

I was like “wtf is that pic for?”

Is that really a nagant?

No, that’s a KAC R2. Based on a Ruger.

ah, but achievable with a nagant i would suppose!

you CAN polish a turd!
