Third boat down: 38’ full cabin SAFE boat

“It has all of the bells and whistles of a high end fishing boat and the speed, performance and durability of the most formidable patrol boats.”

The site also states that the polyethylene foam-filled collars will stop small arms fire from penetrating the hull…

That thing is BADASS!

and with quad 275hp mercs you’re going to be able to run down or run away from just about anything.

Freakin cool as hell…IMO!

Having worked on deep sea sportfisherman’s during the summers while going to college, I can say that while that would make a nice boat to fish out of for some folks in some cases…It wouldn’t fill the bill for a serious billfish or any other big game pelagic fishing boat.

If your fishing in the Gulf w. it’s well documented huge “chop” seas, the Bertram’s in the 30-40ft. range with their amazingly strong hulls would be where I would be putting my 400k…they will run like bats outta hell 24/7 with cat diesels as well.

If I were fishing in the Atlantic w. it’s well documented huge “rolling” seas, I would buy a Luhr’s or Hatteras in 30 to 40ft. range with their deep and wide flaring hulls. They too run twin diesels that are capable of nice speeds, and you ain’t gotta deal with all those headaches from those outboards. Dont get me wrong I love my bassboat which has an outboard…but that outboard doesnt get used for hrs. on end.

Both those boats have cabin’s that are simply beautiful…hardwoods, fine upholstery, kitchenettes, heads, etc. Ultimately these boats are meant to do nothing but pursue large open water pelagic gamefish, so if your not into that then I’m sure many othe types of boats would much better serve you.

Just my 2cents coming from a saltwater fisherman.

Way too big for my local rivers and lakes, but it’s a damn nice boat regardless. Would be great in saltwater, that’s for sure. On the other hand, they say B.O.A.T. stands for Bust Out Another Thousand.

Aww heck, if you have the budget and need for such a vehicle, go for it!

Yeah guess what he use would be ?

Being from Mauimworking on boats for 15 years and having many boats in my life would total depend in where and what I was using it for

Loved RIBs for diving
loved fast racing cats for sailing

With the waters I ply, this one does me just fine.

Yamaha’s are the best outboards made when you add up all the stat’s at the end of the day. I love both the freshwater series and the saltwater series. Nice setup, never owned a Triton but fish a few tourney’s in one, and had a pal who owned a TR21. I like a Skeeter personally but so many good boats being made these days vs. yrs ago when hulls flying apart at high speeds were not crazy to hear about.

Spent some time tooling around on Safeboat SURCs (now called the RPB). They make a damned good, durable hull, and the idea of the torque of outboards appealing as hell vs. the Yanmars/jets.

Don’t see how yer supposed to mount a GAU on it, though…no guns, no sale!
