Would this work???

If I buy a 14.5 inch upper and perm attach an AAC suppressor mount on it, would it bring it to 16 inches and avoid the form 1 process? How would I perm attach the AAC suppressor mount? Thanks.

Do you plan to use a can on it?

I have an AAC can that I could use.

If you don’t plan on using the can, blind pining and welding the muzzle device would be the easiest IMHO. But I’d use some other muzzle device as well. Many of the common ones that will bring a 14.5" bbl to a OAL of 16.1" are offered pre-drilled to make perming easier.

So does it void the warranty when Noveske blind pin & welds an AAC mount on their 14.5in barrels?

Tornado Tech cut and perm attached an m42k black out mount to my 16" bcm middy. Works great.

so the AAC mount would bring the barrrel to 16 inches?

Yes, the Black Out will make a 14.5in barrel >16in.

Thanks guys

I searched on another forum and found a post by Mike Mers of AAC dealing with the pinning/warranty question. He stated that they will cover pinned and welded mounts. “As long as the work is done correctly there will be no problems.”
So, have someone do it who knows what they’re doing, check the alignment, and you should be fine. Do a hack job on it and blast the baffles out of your can, and you might have a issue.:sarcastic:
