‘Germany makes final payment for WWI reparations’

09/29/2010 12:44Final $94 million payment coincides with 20th anniversary of German reunification, according to ‘Der Spiegel’ report.
While celebrating the 20th anniversary of German unification on Sunday, the country will make its final payment for reparations as outlined in the Treaty of Versailles that concluded World War I, Der Spiegel reported.
The payment will be the final installment of interest on foreign bonds Germany issued in the inter-war period to raise necessary funds to pay reparations to the Allies following its defeat 92 years ago.
I wouldve thought they had it paid it off in 1920-1923, when the printing presses were working round the clock

i bet they arent/havent paid a dime for WWII. they shouldn’t have paid a dime for WWI- that was not their fuckin fault, but france’s bitch ass pretty much landed that load of guilt right in their lap.
if it hadn’t been for a number of things, the absolutely absurd reparations being a big one, the nazi party never would have come to power, and WWII never would have happened. at least not the way it did.

The Treaty of Versailles was a discrace and an insult to every German. I am 100% convinced this was why the NSDAP was elected in 1933.
I agree… why else would Hitler have used the same railroad car that Germany surrendered in at the end of WWI for Frances surrender in WWII? I believe the Marshall Plan was our attempt to avoid repeating the mistakes that led to Germany’s renogotiation of the contract at the end of ‘the war to end all wars’.
I wonder - did the USSR ever pay us back for Lend Lease?

Never happen, since it was never a declared war. I know that the UK tendered it’s final Lend Lease payment in December 2006. I was just curious if other nations did the same.
Absolutely, but don’t forget why and how WWI was brought about in the first place.
The same thing can happen to the US. Our debt will destroy us financially, and the stage will be set for Adolf Hitler, II, but Jews will not be the target this time.
