I know that everyone would rather get issues and problems squared away during training.
What I’m wondering is if anyone likes to throw a wrench in the works here or there to intentionally cause problems? Like a dummy round in a magazine, or maybe practicing drills with a less than reliable long gun/ammo to clear more malfunctions?
I consider training and practice two different activities.
During practice I think it’s a great idea to induce malfunctions and practice stoppage reduction. I think any kind of crappy blasting ammo is okay for practice purposes, and crappy magazines as well.
In a training scenario I want my firearms, mags and ammo running 100%. The only stoppages I want to reduce are the instructor created ones.
