Wondering why the Leupold Prismatic is not popular?

OK, wait; another thought… Is the ACOG and the Leupold Prismatic basically the same thing except for the fact that the ACOG does not need batteries, and has magnification?

Thanks

I guess you could put it that way. They are both fixed magnification scopes although I would be willing to bet that the ACOGs are more durable.

What’s your idea of “basically the same thing”? They are both fixed power scopes, but that’s where the similarities pretty much end.

Not to mention the fact that ACOGs come in a vast array of variants/configurations (none of which are 1X power, only 1.5X to 6X I believe).

They’re both ‘scopes’ that you have to line up with as opposed to EOTech or Aimpoint which you don’t. Before you jump on the line up comment I mean you have position your eye at a certain position distance to get the correct aim/sight picture.

I already mentioned that the ACOG’s are magnified.

I had one and my best friend loves his as he is red/green color blind and the black reticle is easy for him to see. For me, I did not like the battery issue and the eye relief issues were too much trouble as it is not a zero paralax system like the Aimpoint. Personally, I think Leupold should stick to what they do best which is magnifying optics and leave the reflex sights to the pros (Aimpoint)…but that is just my inpression!
