Wondering about 45 grain .223

Saw some .233 for sale at Wal Mart, and I bought it without really looking it over. I noticed after the fact that it is 45 grain, and the box said it was designed to be used with 1:9 or slower twist.

My question is, will I have any problems shooting this ammo using a 1:7 barrel? I’m only planning on practicing/shooting paper with it.

Go shoot it and find out.

Those are hallow points. so if you shoot it out of a high twist barrel you run a chance of the bullet spinning apart, so i have been told

Sounds like you got the Winchester stuff. I shot it out of a 1/7 barrel with no problem.

the 45 grain varmit white box has a thick enough jacket it doesnt spin apart until you reach about 3600 fps.
the stuff i have chronographed exited a 20" barrel at 3300 fps.
i have shot some hronady 40 grain varmit express and it would pepper a target at 25 yards.
if i remember correctly that stiff was moving over 3600 fps from my 20" barrel colt, which was shod with a 1x7 hbar

It will shoot fine.

I shot the Rem UMC 45 JHP through my 1/8 barrel and got groups that were less then 1/2 inch. I didnt think it would shoot that well but it did.

I have found that to be vary accurate ammo.

Seems to be pretty hot and accurate load for busting bunnys for me, little spendy to.
