Wolfpack recessed thread adapter

I stumbled across this adapter and found it interesting. Does anyone have experience with this product? I am thinking this would work great on 10.5 inch guns to reduce overall length.

Seems as if this would reduce the volume in the suppressor. So maybe worth it but probably not for most people.

Makes sense, you would lose volume from the expansion chamber which probably won’t be good.

Would the blast hitting the first baffle be worse in any sort of service life reducing manner?

It would be the reduced volume and maybe service life as negatives

vs.

Positives of reducing the effects of length and weight.

I’m not sure, maybe @1168 will jump in here and comment.

It’s like the using a brake as a sacrificial baffle.

I understand how it should work, and really assume it does work, but I’ve just never seen a test where 3 cans are shot to failure with direct thread, flash hider, and comp with round counts showing how much of a difference each type makes.

I’m pretty sure a manufacturer or somebody that would know has said that blast chamber depth and volume were significant factors in wear with a direct thread can. But I’m having a hard time remembering the source.

I think most people will be fine with wear with this adapter. I have noticed that blast chamber volume (different adapters on same can) has an effect on both sound reduction and backpressure, with larger being better for both attributes.

Brake vs flash hider definitely makes a difference. I haven’t tried to quantify it, but it shows.

Thanks, I may give this a try but I am now not totally convinced saving 1/2 inch is worth the squeeze, even though this would be going on a 10.5 inch gun. The suppressor is a YHM Fatcat which already uses the tiny sRx mini brake.
