Do any of you use these M4 Carbine Reliability Enhancement Kit with the Wolff Extra Power Extractor Spring,Black Insert,Crane “O” Ring? Im using just the stock Bushmaster stuff and wanted to know what advantages to you get from this kit.
Who sells them?
I use either the Wolff Extra Power springs or the Colt HD springs and black inserts in all of my ARs. Also, I use either the Crane O-ring or the Defender.
One of the biggest issues with carbines in my experience has been extraction. By running the Wolf or Colt HD springs with black inserts you are probably safe. Adding an o-ring is extra insurance.
However I’ve successfully used normal (non-heavy duty/extra power) springs with just a Defender with great results.
I just have the normal spring with the blue insert and never had a problem.I just wanted to know the advantage you get with the wolf spring and O-ring set up.I would like to try them.I see that Grant has a kit.I’ll jump over to his site and order a few kits and try them.
The advantage is consistant and reliable extraction.
It’s more insurance than anything else. I’ve run standard springs and blue inserts for thousands of rounds and only occasionally had issues. However I’ve never had an issue running a HD spring.
Contact G&R for one of the kits or just slap a Defender on there.
Thanks for the info.Just order a few kits from GandR.
I have been installing the Wolff extra power extractor springs in ALL of my guns since the late 90’s. I highly recommend them. I have had zero extraction problems since I started using the Wolff extra power extractor springs.

I’ve been using Wolff extra power extractor springs without any O-rings/ D-Fenders for about over a year now on my mid length gas system and M4 16" carbines without any problems.
I have some Crane O-rings and D-Fender spares and could use it if I have to but mine runs fine with just the Wolff springs.
On my 20" A2 rifle I just slapped a Crane O-ring in there and it’s fine.
I’m using M16 BCGs on my carbines and rifle.
Wolff extractor springs and D-Fenders are in all my ARs.
