Every week there’s a better deal on ammo and/or components. I’m not buying anything right now. I see a lot more downside room in the market for everything.
There’s NO shortage of ammo right now… that’s for sure.
Yep, I have a pretty good stock of stuff and am just waiting for the prices to plummet.
If you need primers, this looks like a good deal (way below other primers and what it was – looks like big overstock to me – no guarantee that it will be lower in the future).
I would not necessarily buy a bunch to stock up on but might buy what I would use up in the next 6 months. Last I saw them at this level (Wolf) was in 2007.
Sorry, didn’t mean to take away from your thread. $18 is a good deal…now if we could just get Federal primers down that low. 
No worries. I have no interest in the deal other than it is a good deal if you need some primers.
Yeah… I love the wolf primers for sure. I’ve been using the SRMs and Large pistol.
If I was low enough on primers, I’d probably jump on this.
For those who haven’t tried Wolf primers my personal experience says they are good to go. I’ve loaded approximately 3000 SRM in my AR reloads and none have failed to go bang.
I’ve been using wolf primers for years. Probably shot 10k worth of them with no issues. $18/1k is a decent price, haven’t seen them this cheap since early '08. My order from Wideners came in yesterday. 
My experience with their large pistol primers has been good as well. They are a little harder to seat than Winchester and Federal but they all went bang.
I think that people associate the “wolf” name with the crappy steel cased ammo and pass on the wolf primers. Wolf primers are actually a premium product, and I like that they’re readily available.
I seat all my primers with a Sinclair priming tool now, so tighter fitting primers are not an issue for me.
I’ve avoided them for this reason. I use alot of CCI. Are the Wolf primers affiliated with Wolf ammo, or is it 2 different companies?
I’m not sure. I’d never have bought them if it weren’t for a precision oriented shooter who suggested them.
They’re primo primers and ideal for AR ammo reloaders. I’ve gone through several thousand and haven’t found any bad ones.
They are great primers & I have loaded and shot at least 5K in my 5.56 loads with 0 problems !! I’m about 2K into my 2nd batch now !!! I have a buddy that loads & shoots them and he has used easily over 10,15K of the SPP & the only issue he had was they must of mixed up at the Factory and he had SRP in SPP box’s !! 
It was only a couple K out of the whole order. At $18 bucks a thousand,its “almost” better than the Good Old days !!!
Wolf does not make anything they sell as far as I can tell.
The crap ammo is bought from Russian ammo plants. Wolf buys primers from other Russian plants. Wolf buys very good match 22lr in Germany and sells it under the Wolf brand (maybe Wolf Gold). Wolf sells PRVI made ammo under the Wolf Gold line (I have some Wolf Gold .303 and 6.5x55 which is identical including headstamps to PRVI .303 and 6.5x55 I have). They also have, I understand, a very good line of shotgun shells made in Germany under the Wolf brand.
Wolf is a marketing and sales company, not an ammo company.
But there is a shortage of economic sanity.
Do not assume that price will keep going down, or that availability will continue, on anything If you’re lacking something, and can get it, get it.
Give it another few months and it’s going to be bloody obvious to everyone and their dog.
Well,like they say,get it while the gettin is good !!! Things are looking up thats for sure,I just got a Notice that Powder Valley just got in a Million Winchester LP Primers and 50K SRP, so that is good ! And with the Tula primers coming on board that is good also,pretty much the same as Wolf,but it is MORE and we always need More !!! Like stated above,get it while ya can,who knows what tomorrow brings,I guess thats why I ordered 8lb of H335 and another 5K of Wolf SRP in the last week,gotta stay ahead of the game !!!
May have to give these a try.
