Witness marks/paint on bolts for optics, etc.

What is a good paint to use? I know this is a somewhat overthinking of the matter, but I don’t want something that will gun-scrubber off the first time I accidentally spray it, etc.

I just want a good durable little line of paint that is pretty permanent.

Simple question, looking for a simple answer, for an OCD situation.

I always just use a paint marker.

The ones I have are enamel. I’ve never had any issues with my marks rubbing off.

Nail polish?

In a manly color of course

I just use whatever paint pen walmart carries. It doesn’t take much to remark if it fades.

Rock River doesn’t meet milspec. Only Torque Seal F900 is made to the TDP for Inspection Lacquer

:dance3:

at the risk of being somewhat facetious, I use a sharpie. The black stands out enough to see if needed, but not enough to stand out.
I’ve also used rattle can paint - spray a sheet of paper or something with a quick burst, grab a toothpick (or cut a qtip in half) and use that to dip into the paint and apply.

I use a white Sharpie oil based paint marker. Haven’t had any issues with it rubbing off.

Markal Paint Markers, Valve Action or Pro Line.

Works for me too.
