I just sent an email out to my Chief to see if he’ll sign off on my forms. He’s a good guy, but I doubt that, where I live, he gets any of these requests. I had to put in a blurb on whether or not this is legal, what his signature means, and what the rest of the process entails.
If this doesn’t work, I’m not sure if I’ll go the Trust route of not. Its for my HD carbine; and I’ve already determined that if need be, I can clear my house down to the front door with a 16 inch barrel. a shorter gun would work better, though, and I’d like one for my meager “collection”.
Thanks to M4C for all the good info here.
If he doesn’t I would go the Trust route. It is legal and I wouldn’t let someone elses hang ups impact my lifestyle.
I can also talk to the Sheriff if need be. He’s pretty cool with these things, and will sign off at least for his troops. Just an issue of getting onto his busy schedule.
Adrian says that the Sheriff has done it for some other local agencies officers so I’m sure that route would work out for you
I’m going the trust route myself for my SBR to be. Cant wait!![]()
I however am having a lawyer write up the trust. Not sure how much that will cost yet though…
