I recently aquired this Winchester model 12. Manufactured 1946. It was a real beater, the stock was beat to heck, and the plastic butt plate, while in good shape shrunk badly. The Winchester sported a barrel approximately 27" with a Weaver compensator that has four interchangable chokes.
I disassembled the entire model 12. It was so dirty, full of gunk, and grime, I would have bet if I put some Tomato seeds in the receiver, and a little water I could have grown a Tomato plant in there!. A can of Gun Scrubber, and G96 oil everything came out perfect. I sanded the stock down to fit the butt plate, refinished it with stain, and Tung Oil. The barrel was cut down to 18.25", the crown, and brass bead was done by Mag-Na-Port.

Too cool! I love cleaned up/restored old guns.
I’ve always thought the model 12s were pretty neat.
Nice!
My grandpa still hunts squirrel and turkey with an old Model 12 he bought of a Navy buddy in the early '50s. He’s been overheard saying that Winchester’s biggest mistake was phasing out the 12 for the ‘cheap-ass’ 1200.
I do not have any experience with the model 12 but beautiful shotgun and great pictures to boot!

The Model 12 is one of the finest hunting pump shotguns ever made. I’ve only used them for sporting applications, so I can’t comment on their suitability for anything else.
You got yourself a fine gun.
I would love to own an original trench gun in the model 12…those pre-64’s were argueably the best pump scattergun ever made.
Old School Cool.
