Hello everyone. I bought the rifle above yesterday and am trying to get all the information I can about it. So far what I know is that it has a 26 inch heavy barrel, carl something stock, and the moa trigger. I added a bipod aswell. This is my first rifle of this type and I wanted to know what kind of upgrades it may need. Also I think the stock has allu. bedding. Any and all info will be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you have a nice rifle there.
I’d get a bunch of ammo, go shoot it and see if it needs anything.

Most of the Model 70’s I’ve had any experience with are good rifles. I kick myself weekly for passing on a Model 70 Coyote .243 a few months ago.
I bought the stealth a couple months ago but only had the chance
to shoot it twice. With Hornady 168 BTHP i had 4 shots under half inch with 1 flyer still under inch. The flyer i blame on my self and the wind. That was at 100 yards. 200 yards same results 4under half moa with 1 flyer. One thing to remember is that this is a short magnum action. I called winchester tech line and was told it was a short action. Orderd a pictinny rail and it did not fit. Called winchester again differant tech and was told it was short magnum action. Have
bought nightforce scope and orderd Mcmillan A5 stock. Cant wait to see that
Thanks for the help so far guys. Kowa, what kind of rail did you get? I was thinking about getting a leopold or egw but I wanna make sure I get one of quality. Also, what do I gain by getting something like a NightForce vs something in the sub $600 range? Again to everyone, thanks for all the info so far.
I had the egw rail with vortex viper at first and it seemed to be a good rail. Ended up with a nightforce rail and rings to match the scope.
So you are sure its a short magnum action? I called twice and was told short action although they didnt seem to really check.
I was told short magnum action. Short action rail would not fit. wsm rail did fit. I was told stealth was differant from rest of line. The techs
should be told the differance. I wonder if action doesnt come off the
fnh line.
Ok, I just wanted to make sure you didnt maybe mix it up when you typed it. Is the stealth in currrent production or is it from before winchester closed a couple years back? I just ordered a base and rings. Now I just have to save up for some decent glass.
Mine is the new model which i think is a differant size action then the
previous model.
