Wilson Combat might be known for their 1911s, but they also make highly regarded triggers for the AR15. I decided to try their TTU Mil/LE, which is a single stage trigger designed for people like me who don’t want a really light trigger on their ARs. Though Wilson states a pull weight of 5-5.5lbs, mine came in a little under that, averaging an extremely crisp 4lbs, 14oz. That’s still a great pull weight for what I like.
The packet design is licensed from Chip McCormick, though Wilson does a lot of things differently than CMC or Timney. It has a very unique half-cock notch that catches the hammer before hitting the firing pin in the event that the full cock notch should fail (like if you hit the deck too hard with it off “safe”). Wilson claims this makes the TTU the safest AR15 trigger available.
As I show, there is no creep at all- pull enough to move the trigger, and the hammer falls. The reset is short and very distinct, making rapid fire very easy while allowing for great trigger control.
For those who just don’t like single stage triggers or light triggers, however, Wilson will soon be introducing a two-stage version of the Mil/LE with a 5-5.5lbs pull weight.
