I have a surplus Hensoldt ZF24 4X scope for the 7.62mm G-3, with bullet drop compensator out to 600m, and was considering using it for my 16" Grendel build. How close will the BDC match the Grendel trajectory using say 120gr MPT?
At that distance it will be off by a decent amount. Past 500 308, and 6.5G are very close. The 6.5G only has a couple less ft lbs of energy, and drops by a couple more inches. This is past 500. 500 and under the 308 has a significant edge in both categories.
Shooting times recently did a long range issue that compared the grendel to the 308. It is amazing how close in drop and energy they are past 500. You will be able ro make the reticle work with any caliber. You just need to take the time to figure it out.
