Come up here, the local Cabela’s has it coming out their nose and ears, and weeping from their eyes at the moment and it has been that way for at least a month, if not two. I mean they have two end caps and another pair of half shelves loaded with the stuff. It is there. The issue, is that they have gone from like $23 for a 500 bulk pack of Remington(The price it was last time I bought the stuff) and ~$7 for a 100 round sleeve of CCI mini Mags, to $35 for the remington and like $9.49 for the CCI. The 333rd Winchester is $20 something(i want to say $27 but can’t recall) while I can buy it at $17-18 elsewhere. It just isn’t worth the price at that point when my LGS have the stuff and at a reasonable regularity. I mean for a brick of Fed Gold medal Target for below $40, the same stuff at cabela’s would come out to $55 if they let you buy it by the brick and they don’t.
Rant aside, the stuff is coming back into stock to where you can get it, I know I am slowly stockpiling the stuff up, though I am also shooting a good bit more of it than I was a year and a half ago since I can find it. As far as price, at the moment I think we are to the point of waiting for the price to drop out of it. I mean 5.56 had dropped down to around $300-340 a case before the whole ATF bullshit. Hell I am seeing 9mm down closer and closer to $200 a case. So prices are coming down, the only issue is will they stay there? I doubt it, which is why I am picking up more ammo, mags, guns, and components as well as other things as I am able to.
