I have this installed on a Noveske female QD socket backplate on a 10.5" SBR.
I do not like how the quick release buckle pokes me in my abdomen, constantly bangs into the buffer tube or the adjacent buckle, or how it does not let the left side of the gun lay flat against my body.
Is there anyway to remedy this? I have it installed correctly as the pictures show in the instructions.
If this cannot be remedied, then I’m going back to a different single point sling.
I have used the Wilderness single-point off and on for years, starting with running it on a FAL carbine years ago. As I have the gun slung, looking down, I have the fastex buckle on the left side of the QD pushbutton sling swivel. I also sling up with the ejection port in towards my body, not facing out. I’ve never had the problem you describe. Can you take a picture of your setup and/or the issue you’re having?
It’s how I transition to handgun. Learned it from Pat Rogers several years ago and have been doing it since. let’s me keep control of the carbine on the way down while I reach for the pistol with my strong hand.
My Wilderness doesn’t hang like that. Somehow my QD loop is further away from the plastic buckle which puts the buckle further up the webbing on the left side. In other words, the buckle would be closer to the left side of the picture on mine.
ETA:
Looking at the wilderness website it does look like theirs hang the way yours does (even though they mention transitioning with ejection port in during the video). I think that if you loosen up the sliding buckle (on the right side in your picture) you may get a better hang. Or it may just be that this sling isn’t for you.
Is there extra material between the quick release buckle and the other half of the sling on yours? The base of the male end of the quick release buckle hits the other two-slot slider buckle. Is that was yours does?
