Why the hate for sightmark?

I own a sure shot reflex and have had no issues with it. Yes it’s cheap! I have my magpul mbus for backup. The sightmark is perfect for beginners. Like me! They must have changed it cuz i get no washout in bright sunlight at all. I would prefer crap first over so many expensive options. I like the looks of eotech, aimpoint, and some of the acogs. I’m still hung up on what i’m saving for. I figure the eotec xps with magnifier will be a good setup. I look at it like this. If you can shoot with a cheap pos, then if shtf any pos weapon is good to go!

Unfortunately, once the S hits the F, crap optics tend to fail. Crap “glass”, crap electronics, crap battery life. My .2 cents, become proficient with iron or back-up sights and save for an Aimpoint or EOtech.

Eotech for sure! Bought the sightmark to get use to the holographics. With buying the wife all her tech toys it was all i could get. So far i have actually tried to break it. Drop the gun from chest high, run into crap with it! It still holds zero and hasn’t quit! Go figure! If it handles that, then i have to wait to get the good stuff.

This is akin to saying a Model 1 or DPMS carbine is good to go, because it hasn’t failed yet. Buy once, cry once.

Send me your sight… I’ll break it. I’ll also tell you how their customer service is.

A couple of inconclusive little dinger tests and being overenthusiastic with the application of exclaimation points doesn’t change the fact that they don’t survive the level of brutality at which good optics are tested and used.

Of course Sightmarks and the like are going to endure plinker-level shooting. Start getting into more than a few thousand rounds per year, though, and those things go TU in a hurry.

If you’re primary desire for the other brands you mentioned is their “looks,” then it’s a pretty good bet that a Sightmark fits your level of intended usage.

Since we don’t need a Sightmark thread, and since the OP asked no questions and only made a baseless Facebook proclaimation of no technical merit whatsoever, we can call this one done.
