Why not both?

As long as you practice significantly with both, I say no problem. For ME, the grip angle difference meant I needed a few hundred rounds to fix my point of aim when switching between the two.

I noticed with the standard M&P9 that I didn’t hold the pistol in line; pushing the rear to the right. Thusly, my POI was sitting to the left. However, the controls and ergos are spot on with the platform. I bought the PRO series as a more appropriate weapon for SSP class in IDPA. The Glock platform will always point and shoot perfectly for me, so keeping up my skills with them has never been an issue. As a result, I keep them around as carry weapons. But they leave a bit to be desired in competitive shooting.

All that to say, I will indeed need to practice getting my POA and POI to sync with the M&P, but I’m comfortable with both.

Are you into logging? Those boots are something else. The high lacing patter says you’re a tactical force to be reckoned with, while the slipper-like stitching says you’re looking for a relaxing evening.

The only problem I have with “both” is building muscle memory. I mean real muscle memory, not the way people overuse the term to describe repetition and familiarity. By now, my draw and all the way through to the firing are to make the G19 effective. That’s a problem, since I hold a G19 and an M&P very differently. Also, one of your guns has a safety, the other doesn’t. Practice with both.

Never a good reason NOT to have more guns though. I’m looking at the CZ P07/P09 right now and I know I’m just making my life harder.

The boots bring it all together.

I actually got rid of the standard M&P with the ambi safety, because I didn’t really have a use for it at the time. And the afore-mentioned issues with sight alignment pushed me to (pre-maturely) leave the platform. But after a few months I thought about how well it worked aside from the lack of familiarity. Lo and behold, I’m back again with features that are better suited to my new needs. I’ve got a lot more time and money to shoot regularly now, so I think things should work out, assuming using one platform doesn’t result in deterioration of the other.

Yes both is good!! Something about that picture looki awesome!
