Thanks for posting this, guys, and for running such an informative site.
I am here want to get the best quality information about the M4/AR15 directly from the people whose lives and/or livelihoods depend on it. Apparently this is where those people come when they’re off work (or in some cases, while they’re AT work). I really appreciate being able to read what you all have to say.
Thanks again.
Like others, I appreciate the “quiet professionalism” exhibited by the staff of this site. It’s THE place for no BS answers to questions on the AR platform and its use. I know from first-hand experience that when it comes to Internet communities, the tone is set at the top. Kudos to The Management for a job well done.
About me - now 55, I’ve been a competitive handgunner since since I was 26. I spent over a decade in NRA Bullseye, and have since participated in NRA Action Pistol, IPSC, a civilian PPC league and dabbled in NRA High Power with a SA M1A. I have been a NRA Pistol Instructor for 16 years. I remain an active IDPA shooter with a Glock 17, which I have developed a high comfort level with so it remains my in-house go-to gun. I am also an avid photographer, thus my handle “Canonshooter.”
Though I was not invited to participate in the Vietnam conflict, my dad (who passed in 1999) served in the Army Air Force, CBI theater and was based in India. My god father “Uncle Jim” (and my dad’s closest life-long friend) flew SB2C Helldivers off the decks of the USS Essex (CV-9) in the Pacific. My Uncle Jim is still living in NY and we see him regularly.
My sincere gratitude to all of those here who have served - and continue to serve - in the armed forces, and for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
I joined here a few years ago after finding this site while surfing the net late at night. I continue to come back because it is so well moderated and there is a lot of good information passed here.
Plus, I have met a few of the moderators and others who carry special tags here and they are cool.
-15 years in the US Marine Corps mostly spent in Special Operations (Force Reconnaissance)
-Got off active duty in 04 with 4 combat deployments in Somalia East Africa, Kosovo, Iraq, Liberia West Africa.
-After active duty I went back over to Iraq as PSD for Blackwater then moved on to work for Other Government Agencies in Iraq and Afghanistan with multiple combat tours.
This site IMO is head and shoulders above most of the “other” AR15 sites. Most here are professional and respect the other members. I’m glad to be a part of this site, keep up the good work.

Bunch of Armorers Certs, Colt, KAC, Sig, Beretta, Glock, Dillon, Remington, probably forgot one, Dont have an “I Love me wall”
Real busy with SCAR fielding and a Sniper Weapons Maintenance course, dont post here as much as I used to since I try and do something other than what I do at work when Im not at work.
Just a suggestion for the users of m4carbine.net. How about hosting your pictures on www.imageshack.us so those of use on the navy’s NMCI network can see them. NMCI blocks photobucket, but not imageshack. Please
Hrm… I’d say that the quality of information is very high compared to other sites. There’s less of a ‘only my opinion matters you stupid plebe’ attitude in that you can ask a question, get high quality answers (instead of ridicule) and if you ask questions about those answers, people will actually respond instead of react.
So far I’ve learned a lot from reading and look forward to learning more.
