You can find decent 5.56 barrels for $200; I can’t find a .300 barrel under $450.
Is it supply and demand or are .300 barrels just more expensive?

Economy of scale. Niche products tend to cost more
.300Blackout is the sexy new girl. Wait a few years, price will come down as supply & demand adjusts the market price as demand saturates.
I will say, I have three and it Is a great hunting round for hogs and deer.
Subsonic, suppressed it is a great 50 yd cartridge and is good supersonic up to 200 yds -for me. That meets almost all my current needs other than rim fire small game and bird hunting.
That’s kind of what I was thinking and failed to articulate in the original post.
Looks like I’ll be picking up a 14.5" Noveske then.
I got my Daniel Defense 16"er w/o gas block for $250 at a gun show a while back…
There are cheaper barrels out there. It looks like you stopped looking when you found Noveske.
These are out of stock now but you could always wait:

Another thing to remember with the Noveske barrel is that you are also getting a pinned gas block and (usually) a gas tube with the barrel. That’s about another $50 to $60 of part, at least. At least as far as Noveske is concerned, their 5.56 barrels are the same price.
Silly niche product. Eventually they will come down.
It would be full retard to get into 300AAC right now with ammo being nonexistent.
Brownells has 16" Nemo barrels in stock right now, that are a shade over 200. M4 profile.
But what do I know, as I am retarded ![]()

All of this. Novekse 300 barrels are high because their 556 and 308 barrels are high.
The Noveske stainless steel .300blk barrels are top notch…1moa @ 100 w/ 1-4x accupoint and used remington umc 115gr. It is worth the extra money in not only quality but you are also supporting a awesome company.
Getting into the 300 now I agree, for those who jumped when it first came on the market, if one had the foresight to buy in quantity when it was available or reload, there isn’t a problem yet.
Wilson Combat barrels are $250.
I’ve had great accuracy results with mine!

Just under $300 and supposed to be premium stainless steel polygonal 3 groove barrels designed specifically for either subsonic or supersonic!
It’s cuz they’re new. Kinda like the Iphone18 or whatever the latest and greatest is out there.
You can find some reasonable barrels if you shop around.
…and don’t forget that some dealers are/were taking advantage of the current situations to boost prices. (no blame, just the facts).
I had purchased my components by November 0f 2012 and after December most prices jumped up about 10% due to increase demand for anything AR.
Wake. Joe,
Where are you seeing the wilson combat for $250?
And people are just now starting to figure out that she’s just another retarded Ding Bat who can’t do much of anything for you. ![]()
Wilson Combat barrels were listed the other day for $250ish, just the barrel.
As far as the 5.56 goes.
These guys offers the complete upper with the complete bolt/carrier group starting at $445 for a 20 inch barrel flat top upper with the A2 Handguard, A2 Front Sight and A2 Flash Hider
The 16 inch with M4 Handguard, A2 Front Sight and A2 Flash Hider is $440
And a lit of what they list is supposed to be IN STOCK!
Thanks arch
Just got an email from Botach, they have two different .300 barrels in stock. A 16" and a 10.5" I believe. ATI with melonite finish, 1 in 7 twist and M4 feed ramps.
