Who makes this BCG - and is that good staking? (pics)

I purchased this in a new rifle a few months ago and have my doubts as to the manufacturer of the bolt carrier group. Is there any way to tell for sure? Is that good staking?

Bolt looks to be a LMT based on the AC and MP markings.

What is up with the material around the staking??

I’ve never seen it appear brittle like that…

i’ve seen 'em snap if they’re pushed in too sharply. doesn’t necessarily jack it up. its easy to do with a moacks, part of why ive just always used a spring loaded punch- tap it till its perfect and leave it

That key resembles a pot metal-esque key seen in a bottomfeeder brand. I thought I had posted a similar pic at one time. I’ll hunt for it.

the staking looks like it was done with a sharp chisel. the displaced metal appears weakend, due to the splitting

FYI - The entire bolt and BCG is out of a complete LMT that I ordered new a few months ago. I’ve had it out twice, and both times I had short stroking issues. This last time we narrowed the problem down to the BCG, as my gun runs fine with my buddies BCG in it, and likewise, his gun shortstokes with my BCG in it. (And of course mine short strokes on the BCG) I’m probably going to post a new thread on this, but from what I’ve read it sounds like my gas key may not be torqued properly. The BCG never quite looked right to me right out of the box, which is why I asked who made it. It makes me feel better knowing that someone identified that the bolt is LMT I suppose. I’m going to get a torque wrench on my gas key bolts this weekend and see where they’re at. thx-c

It’s an LMT. It looks exactly like the LMT I got in the mail this morning. The staking job looks the same also.

I have seen other LMT and no name bolts staked like that. It happens if the staking is done a little high on the key.

You won’t get an accurate torque reading due to the bolts being staked…It keeps them from moving in both directions

FYI - the bolt was an easy tell…only LMT undercuts behind the lugs.

I had a LMT key and CMT do that, that I over cranked on the MOAKS with when I just got it and was over zealous…
